In 2009 Norwegian director Wirkola brought us a unique comedy horror that’s Raimi influences are evident. A seemingly run of the mill horror Dead Snow leads with a group of quirky students vacationing in the mountains. Things begin to get serious as an eerie man appears with a cautionary tale of the evils within the mountain, and what could be more evil than zombies? Well Nazi zombies of course. Wirkola takes one part horror film reference, one part slapstick comedy, and one part filthy gore blending it all together with a wonderful cast to create an amazing comedy horror experience.
