A sly smirk and a witty one liner grace the screen but unfortunately no amount of Gyllenhaal charm could turn back the sands of time on judgment of the film adaptation of Prince of Persia. The adopted misfit prince Dastan leads the conquering of the holy city, and inadvertently sets in motion a plot that will test his will, loyalty, and perseverance. The negatives in the film come in droves as character portrayals due in part to forgettable acting as well as cheesy dialogue writing tear a hole in the story that leave this film in a below average light.

I completely disagree.
I can understand all of its flashy summer movie appeal with the fast paced sword fights, and near pointless romance story tossed into the mix but I personally don't find that all too appealing when the characters, acting, I don't remember where this comment was going because I went to IHOP for 4 hours while in the middle of typing it.
Watching it again as myself and not as a family movie reviewer, I totally agree with you! The princess' voice was enough to make me want to cringe! And while Jake Gyllenhall usually makes me go weak in the knees, not so much this movie!
I almost wish that I played the game, so I could compare it to that, however I don't. :(
Did you play the game and if so, how does it stack up against it? Was it your typical video game to movie crap, or was it better than the normal?
