100 Word Review - Robin Hood

Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe team up once again to bring the heroic tale of Robin Hood and his merry men in a more accurate, and up-to-date variation. Don’t be fooled by the title attached to this film though, it neither follows the storyline of the originals nor holds Robin in the same regard as his family friendly predecessors. More of a prequel, we are brought into an explanation of the origin of Robin, and how he and his lovable cohorts became the outlaws we all know. An interesting action pack re-imagining; Robin Hood makes for a thoughtlessly entertaining watch.

"Thoughtlessly entertaining": my thoughts exactly!

I think the reason it has received so many negative reviews is just because so many people seemed to expect a more deeply woven plot from the Robin Hood name. I just wonder how anyone could see Scott and Crowe and not just assume pure brutal action.
