by @snobbyfilmguy of Pulp TruthJodie Foster’s “The Beaver” has brought on a mixed bag of reviews from critics and audiences. Gibson’s performance was touching and real, as you can tell he brought some of his real life emotion to it. Lawrence was good too. After that every other aspect felt fake. Almost like it was trying to get us to believe something the film itself wasn’t fully endorsing. I get why people hate it. And I think people love it for it’s message of hurting, suffering people in our lives. But even that didn’t feel real. Good performances in a overly simplified film.
