100 Word Review - The Ides of March

George Clooney is no doubt the all-American star of Hollywood so it only makes sense for him to direct, write, and star as the Presidential hopeful in his latest film Ides of March. Taking us to the underbelly of the democratic primaries we find a idealistic golden mind Stephen (Gosling) who is leading the Morris campaign to victory when the underhanded tactics of his opposition spin him down a trail of doubt, and regret. The film follows theme of duality in politics that carries from the story, to the high-contrast cinematography to create a visually and psychologically appealing political drama.
